Find Lafourche Parish Inmates

Lafourche Parish inmate search is handled through sheriff custody records, state custody tools, and direct jail contact when the public roster does not answer a question. The Lafourche Parish jail roster search helps locate people held in local custody, but it is not the same as a full criminal court record. Current custody status, booking data, hold reasons, visitation rules, and money channels each come from a different official source.

Lafourche Parish Jail Roster

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office publishes current custody information through the official Zuercher inmate roster. That roster is the primary online channel for Lafourche Parish inmate records, hold reasons, and basic custody fields. It is most useful for people currently held at the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex or tied to the local sheriff's custody system.

The roster does not replace the Clerk's criminal case file. Arrest and booking records may show a charge or hold before the court has a final disposition. For pleas, motions, sentencing, expungement orders, or other court events, use Clerk Connect criminal inquiry or the 17th JDC criminal docket channel. If a person has been moved to state prison after sentencing, use the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections offender locator instead of the parish jail roster.

The official LPSO inmate roster search is the public starting point for Lafourche Parish inmate records.

The roster screen supports name and custody filters, but direct jail contact is still the fallback for urgent or unclear custody questions.

Use the Lafourche Parish Inmate Roster

The Zuercher roster allows several filters. The public initialization data lists name, race, sex, arrest date, in-custody date, and other template fields. Some fields may appear in the template but not be active in the current Lafourche public configuration. Use a broad name search first when exact spelling is uncertain, then narrow by race, sex, or custody date if too many results appear.

  1. Open the LPSO Zuercher roster and enter a name or other available filter.
  2. Use race, sex, arrest date, or in-custody date to narrow common names.
  3. Review the result row for name, demographic fields, cell block, arrest date, and hold reasons.
  4. Call LPCC at 985-449-4458 if the online result is unclear, urgent, or missing expected custody data.
  5. Use VINELink or LAVNS for custody notification rather than relying on repeated manual searches.

Lafourche Parish Roster Search Fields

The roster search-field table below comes from the Lafourche Zuercher public template and API capture. It shows both visible concepts and fields that may not be active in the current public filter set. That distinction prevents users from expecting a booking-number search or release-date filter when the live page does not expose one.

What Lafourche Parish Inmate Records Show

An inmate result is a custody profile, not proof of guilt. LPSO current columns include name, race, sex, date of birth, cell block, and arrest date. The portal also displays hold reasons beneath a row when available. Fields such as held-for agency and release date appear in the template but were not part of the current available public columns captured in research.

FieldWhat It Shows
NameThe person listed in current local custody records.
Race and SexIdentity fields used to distinguish similar names.
DOBDate of birth format used by the current public configuration.
Cell BlockThe LPCC or TWP housing area shown in the roster.
Arrest DateThe date tied to the current custody event.
Hold ReasonsHTML hold-reason text shown beneath the inmate row when available.
MugshotThe template has a mugshot column, but public booking photos were removed under Act 494 policy changes.

Lafourche Parish Booking Photos

LPSO's inmate portal notice says Act 494, effective June 2022, restricts release of booking photos. As a result, LPSO temporarily removed booking photos from the public jail roster while updating policies and systems. The absence of a booking photo on the public roster does not mean there is no arrest, booking, or custody record.

Booking records can still be checked through the roster, LPCC phone line, or LPSO public records request path. For court outcomes, use the Clerk criminal record channels. Arrests are not convictions, and a roster entry should not be described as a sentence or final finding unless a court record says so.

Lafourche Parish Jail Facilities

The main jail is the Lafourche Parish Correctional Complex, which began operations in January 2019 and replaced the former Lafourche Parish Detention Center. LPCC handles intake, pretrial detainees, and sentenced local inmates. The sheriff's official page describes a new-generation facility with programs for education, mental health, medical care, jail ministry, substance dependency, family support, domestic violence, vocational services, and re-entry.

Older court, booking, or news records may refer to the closed Lafourche Parish Detention Center, while current custody records use LPCC and Transitional Work Program terminology. That history explains why a person searching older arrest material may see different facility names than the current Zuercher roster. For present custody questions, LPCC is the main local contact, and the TWP address is documented by LPSO for money-order deposits.

Lafourche Parish Visitation Rules

The LPSO visitation page directs video visitation through ICSolutions and states that visitors should contact LPCC for the current visitation schedule. It also sets limits that affect any visit: one 15-minute visit per inmate, up to two visitors together, valid identification, and a visitor list requirement. Children are not allowed in the jail during normal visitation unless authorized by the Warden or designee.

LPSO publishes Correctional Complex visitation guidelines with the official rules for visitor lists, ID, age, packages, money, and mail.

The visitation rules are stricter than a simple schedule, so verify both the date and the visitor's eligibility before travel.

Lafourche Parish Inmate Mail and Money

Mail must include the sender's full name and the inmate's full name. LPSO says money orders and correspondence may be mailed, but packages and cash cannot be mailed. Visitors may bring cash or money orders for an inmate during visits and may also deliver money outside visitation hours under the facility's rules.

Commissary is handled by Tiger Correctional Services. Inmates may buy snacks, beverages, hygiene items, and similar items. The online workflow asks users to choose the facility, find the inmate name, then place an order or deposit money. Deposits have a $5 minimum, online purchases have a $10 minimum, and Tiger Correctional Services assesses a 3 percent online transaction fee.

Money orders for LPCC go to 2594 Veterans Boulevard, Thibodaux, LA 70301. Money orders for the Transitional Work Program go to 1156 U.S. Highway 90 East, Raceland, LA 70394. The distinction is important because a deposit sent to the wrong facility address may not reach the intended inmate account without delay.

VINELink and State Custody

When a Lafourche Parish inmate is transferred to state custody after sentencing, the parish roster may no longer be the best search path. Use the Louisiana DOC offender locator for sentenced state prisoners. For custody notice and victim notification, use Louisiana VINELink/LAVNS instead of checking the roster repeatedly.

The Louisiana VINELink custody notification lookup is assigned to this Lafourche Parish inmate records page as a statewide custody-notice channel.

VINELink is a notification and custody-status tool, while court outcomes still come from the Clerk and court record system.

LPSO App and Records Requests

The LPSO site metadata advertises a Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office app from OCV, LLC, with iOS and Google Play listings. Research did not verify an app-only inmate lookup, so the app should be described as an additional sheriff information channel rather than the exclusive way to search inmate records. The official site also exposes inmate roster, warrants, public records request, sex offender alerts, emergency alerts, crash reports, and news paths.

The LPSO Apple app listing and LPSO Google Play app listing are both assigned sources for Lafourche Parish inmate records access.

The Apple listing supports mobile access to sheriff information, but the public roster and LPCC phone line remain the documented inmate lookup channels.

The Google Play listing for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office app is the Android app source assigned for this page.

The Google Play listing gives Android users the same sheriff-app route, while formal records not shown online should go through LPSO records request procedures.
